Luvin' Lunches & Food Box Ministries

"For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink..."

Jesus (Matthew 25:35)

Volunteers from Stark Methodist help alleviate hunger in our local community in two particular ways:

Luvin' Lunches. Butts County children who traditionally rely heavily on school meals to provide a major portion of their daily nutritional needs. During the summer months when school is out, Luvin' Lunches  is a countywide program supported by volunteers from churches and community organizations to pack lunches for hungry school children. Over the past several years, Luvin' Lunches has packed between 12,000-17,000 sandwiches and accompanying lunch foods each summer. Stark Methodist is proud to do our share, with volunteers packing as many as 200 sandwiches per week.

Food Box Ministry. Stark also packs and distributes boxes of food to needy families once per month throughout the year. Volunteers meet the first Saturday of each month to pack and distribute 10-20 boxes of food.

These times of serving not only meet a practical need for hungry people in our community, they are a time of fellowship and spiritual growth for the volunteers who gather to love God and our neighbors.
